A Visit to Mary's house.. (The VIRGIN MARY, that is)

Loreto, Italy. The Black Madonna and the house of Mary, transported to Loreto. Monday, May 8. Monia and Max were off today so they took me to Loretto and also for a short hike near Due Surella. Loreto is second only to the Vatican in terms of holiness around here. I thought we were going primarily to see the black Madonna, but really the cool this is if the house of stone is the one where Jesus lived. It was carried to Loreto by the Crusaders in the 1200's. Who knows, but a cool thought, none the less. Max and Monia surprised me with a lovely souvenir of the black Madonoa. Then we were off to hike in the mountains a bit for a view of the Due Sorella rocks and the Adriatic Sea. A lovely little lunch in the woods followed. Bellissima!

We walked through a lovely sea-side town and contemplated the price of a house there...
