Company and Clothes
Senore Nardi came to visit last night. We went to Senigalia,(a larger beach town) for drinks (aperol spritz of course) and dinner.
I made it through the entire night's conversation without the translator on my phone. (My data is all used up.) I think he was pretty surprised at how much I have learned since last time he saw me.
This morning, Monia and I went shopping. Yesterday, I was shopping by myself and later with Massie. So, shopping shopping shopping. Monia likes to shop. Yesterday Massie took me to this quirky "Americana" store with an airplane in the roof. (Note the use of the word "in" rather than "on".) Hunting gear, American Indian headdresses, WW2 bomber jackets, 60's dresses, etc etc. I saw this great embroidered dress by some top Italian designer. But it was only on the mannequin and I wouldn't let Massie ask to take it off so I could try it on, and besides it was $120. This morning, another store, same dress, on a mannequin again. Stores here seem to only have one of things in any size or maybe in the whole store. We went to another store and they had it in red and I tried it on. Too small. Monia kindly found me another even more expensive dress to try and when I came out to look in the mirror, everyone thought it was so spectacular that I had to buy it. I better not gain any weight and we need to have a party that I can wear it to.
Other than that, I have been teaching Massie a lot, drinkin' coffee, goofing off with Nonna, going to swimming lesson and watching Happy Days in Italian. Oh, I taught Nastia how to jitterbug, too!
BTW, check out the price of Italian wine...
