And today I cook....
This morning the cleaning lady is coming and Monia's mom and I are going to the city to shop. There is a market for a local festival so we will go there. Sara, this looks just like in France, same vendors, I believe. LOL Anyhow I need tights to wear with my dresses (I should have packed the extra pair of jeans...). Her mom, Anna, speaks no English, but since my Italian is so good, no worries. We drove to Monia's office, left the car and hopped on the bus for a quick trip to the city - Ancona. Got the tights, some dried fruit and various cheeses for the pizza. Monia's mom is paying for all the food. Don't know if that is part of the work contract?? Anyhow we bought some olives, expected them to be 1.90 Euro but they were 5 and I think Anna may have sworn at the guy. We yacked as best we could which is actually not too bad although I have no way to actually know if what I think she said is what she said. Capisci??? We were home by lunch, her husband is not all that well and she wanted to get home to cook. I ate pasta and fresh buffalo mozzarella at their house which is upstairs. I am amazed at their kitchen. 20 years old, red lacquered. Looks perfectly modern and stylish. Really. I started pizza dough in the morn, but Anna tells me we are all eating together, so I just made another. And she just ran down the steps to make sure I used bread flour and not pasta flour. Good I used the correct one! Wish me luck on the American-makes-pizza-for-the-Italians test this evening...
